Default Windows Explorer

I would like to set windows explorer so that it ALWAYS
views in a list with details, and displays a list of
folders to the side, as opposed to icons.
I edit the settings in tools, folder options, but every
time i open it back up it goes back to icons.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.
