Default Trojan Attack

I'm running Windows XP. We've recently installed Norton Internet Security which has detected the Trojan.Mitgleider virus. I have run all available scans and followed all of the directions from symantec on how to delete this virus yo no avail. Values tha
t should be located in the registry are not and there's no way to stop the Virus Warnings that continue to pop up. I've searched the Symantec site for further assistance but nothing has turned up. Any information anyone can give me will be HUGELY appreci
ated. Thank you.

Sure you followed all of the directions? Even the one about turning off
your system restore?

Did you turn off System Restore? If not, the virus is saved in one of your
restore points. Right Click My Computer, click on properties, on the Restore
tab, check the box turn off System Restore on all drives. This will delete
all your restore points and the virus as well. Reboot. After you are sure
our system is clean, you can turn System Restore back on.

Yes, I turned off System Restore, but when I've gone to the registry the following values aren't the

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
ssgrate.exe3=%System%\systemexe

AND

HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/Software/DateTime
pid
uid
port

They were never there to delete in the first place. Is there any other place it might be hiding? I followed the directions to the letter, but the actual values were never there in the first place. What's that all about?
