Default how to change default left mouse menu

I am running XP home and when I double click on a drive,
in my computer, instead of opening by default it brings
up search window instead of the open command.
If you right click on the drive to bring up options, the
search item is set as the default command. I have to
right click, bring up menu and select open.
How do I change the default back to open.
Thanks Rick
