Hi Carey,
I have exactly the same problem as “quanison”, almost word for word. I
desperately need some guidance, before I start looking outside for the
sledgehammer.
I’ll contact you, if you don’t mind, please!?
Regards,
George

This is what I have done. Is on a XP PRO.
1. Start- Control Panel- User Accounts-"Guest" off- also there, DO
CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT (e.g. "Bond") make "Bond" a "Limited" account and give
it a password (e.g. 007700) THIS STEP IS SIMPLE BUT CRITICAL!!!!
2. Start- Control Panel- Folder Options- View- Advanced Settings- Use
simple file sharing NO TICK.

Now, from the laptop that you could not logon (BOND) onto XP PRO, when the
dialog box pops up asking for User name and password, just give it, "Bond"
and,"007700" and you're in.

I am sure that it may be another way to make it work but this is what worked
for me.
