Default Networking with XP

Hi:

I'm having a problem in trying to get this computer networked with all
the other computers that are on DSL network and it doesn't recognize
the other computerS. What are the steps I have to take to get the
other computers to be recognized on the network? I'm not even sure if
it's on a Sorry I'm being very general but I don't know much about XP.

Thanks for any response.
