Default wrong installation

by mistake, i had installed Infrared adapter as a prolific serial com port,
now xp recg. it as a s-com port, what should i do now ?

Remove the Adapter, uninstall the software or drivers and then try
again.

i have done the same, but it does not work, any ohter way out ?

Jani, try a System Restore back to before you installed the Device. Go
to StartAll ProgramsAccessoriesSystem ToolsSystem Restore.
