Default Persistent Dial up password

I am unable to save the password used for dial-up connection. I currently
am using a 7 character password and it seems to change to about 16
characters.
I can log on to my ISP using start|connect to with no problems. However
when I just click on IE and dial-up connections opens it just has too many
characters to be my password. Any suggestions as to how or where this is
happening?
I am currently using XP home sp2
Thanks

That's normal behavior. Windows will add the extra asterisks as
an additional way to mask your password. As long as you're
connection is working, don't worry about it.
