Windows Help and Support Service (helpsvc) will not start
I cannot access the Windows Help and Support Service on my computer. I've
even tried querying it from the command line and nothing comes up. What is the best way to reinstall the service and get it working correctly again? I cannot access config.sys either. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated! |

Windows Help and Support Service (helpsvc) will not start
hi,
do you receive any error messages??............how long has it stopped working for?? If it has been only recently they have stopped working.......... try running the 'system restore' feature in windows xp. Restore the computer to a date before the problem started. Banshee_V |

Windows Help and Support Service (helpsvc) will not start
Unfortunately this has been going on for sometime and I've finally become
annoyed with it enough to fix it. The error I get is just that the Help and Support Service is not running and that I should start the service. However, it will not start. I'm pretty certain the registry has become corrupt because the files for the service still seem to be intact in Windows. Any other ideas? Thanks.
