Default Any RCMD experts out there?

I hope this is the right group... the name seems right anyway.

I'm trying to automate a task that has to run on a particular machine on the
network. An accounting package has been installed there, which includes an
importer app that we want to suck up a file once a day. No, we can't simply
time it or watch a dir or something like that.

After various attempts at security, I was able to get RCMD working OK.
Yesterday I was able to run various commands (like DIR) and such with success
on the machine in question. So now, my questions:

1) today RCMD will no longer run. I get something to the effect of
"Initiallization of DLL ... \system32\kernel32.dll failed. The process is
terminating abnormally".

Does anyone have any clue what this means?

2) Can RCMD launches work with programs that will display a UI? The import
app stupidly displays both a "splash" screen when it starts as well as a
dialog box when it completes (which thankfully times out).

The reason I ask is that my RCMD command simply starts a batch file on a
drive on that machine (which we have uploaded from the network). If I log
into that machine and run the file, it works perfectly. If I RCMD the file it
generally "hangs". Task manager shows the app (import.exe) running, and I
can't even force-quit it.

I'm not sure this has anything to do with the splash or dialog, but it seems
like an obvious place to start.
