Default Users permissions- One computer to another- user is part of the ad

Having issue were admin rights from one system is not having same rights on
the other.
In other version of windows you could browze user from one computer to
another.
XP you can't do this . Unless running a Server is this correct.
Have an issue with ODBC. Application uses a Microsoft Access database on a
master computer. On the other computer it uses the database, but when it
tries is unable to connect because of database is locked or does not have the
permissions.
The user on both computer has Admin rights.
Can anyone answer this puzzle?
Looking forward to the responses

The computer does not have to be a server operating system. For XP Pro you
would want to make sure that simple file sharing is disabled so that the
user can authenticate as himself on the target computer and not guest.
Another common problem is that the Windows Firewall if enabled can block
access to shares unless the source computer is in the exemption list. If
there is proper connectivity between the two computers and the user that is
trying to access the other computer with the share is logged onto his
computer with an user account/password that is on the target computer as a
local administrator he should be able to access the hidden administrative
share such as C$ if everything is configured correctly. It also helps to
look in the security log on the computer where the share is located to see
if any logon failures for type 3 logon are recorded which can give helpful
information as to why access is being denied. Auditing of logon events would
have to be enabled in Local Security Policy on the computer with the share
to see logon events. --- Steve
