Default windows installer trying to find a program

every time I turn on my PC (running XP professional), windows installer trys
to install a program called Photo Gallery. it ties up my PC for 15-20
minutes if I don't cancel it out 3 times immedialtely after the message comes
on the screen. It eventually after 20 minutes or so asks for the Photo
Gallery disk. I do not have a Photo Gallery disk. I can not find Photo
Gallery on my PC to delete it. this is very annoying and time consuming for
me. any suggestions to get it to stop this will be much appreciated. Thank
you!

did not help. any specific suggestions. I am not a highly technical user.

Did you remove "Photo Gallery" using the Windows Installer Cleanup utility?

See also:

"Every time I launch my application, Windows Installer performs an
installation. How can I determine the cause of the on-demand installation?"
in the FAQ page:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000...t/msi_faq.mspx

You can then remove the installer information of the application (Photo
Gallery) using Windows Installer Cleanup utility.

somehow this still is not helping me. when i click on this utility, it runs
saying that it uninstalled the cleanup utility from my PC. it never asks me
to remove anything such as Photo Gallery. it just runs for a few seconds
then says it's finished. thank you for your persistence.

Ramesh, is it possible for us to get on a phone call together? I am missing
something here. maybe my windows installer is not working. when i click on
the utilities,it seems to either install it or uninstall it. basically the
same info as below. maybe if you or someone can walk me through a few steps
on my PC, that would help. Thank you!

Hi TJM,

Install Windows Installer Cleanup Utility once. To launch the utility, type
this in Start, Run:

"%Programfiles%\Windows Installer Clean Up\msicuu.exe"

Remove the offending entry from the listing.
