Dear Ramesh,
You are a life saver. I have been pulling my hair having the same problem that TJM was having. After I removed PhotoGallery using the Windows Installer Utility, my Nero program worked just fine. windows installer trying to find a program
This was really helpful, but the solution offered was a way to make the
problem go away, not a way to fix the problem. The real problem is that somehow the PhotoGallery.msi file location has been lost or corrupted. PhotoGallery is a module that comes with HP printers and multifunction devices on the install CD. It works with the Hp Image Zone application. If you don't use HP IZ, then you're OK wih the fix described. If you do, you might want to find your HP printer install disk and direct Windows Installer to the PhotoGallery.msi file you will find when you browse that disk. windows installer trying to find a program
Ramesh,
I hope you read this. I'm trying to install some software for my Ipod and when it is configuring photo gallery it errors out asking for a disk for photo gallery msi. I installed your software windows clean up and deleted photo gallery and retried the ipod program and now it is looking for photo gallery and stops there. I did a restore to get it back now I'm back where I started from. Do you have any ideas? Thanks for your help. Tom "Ramesh, MS-MVP" wrote: Hi TJM, Install Windows Installer Cleanup Utility once. I finally found an answer. If you are using a HP printer, use the install
disk and go to the setup directory. The photo gallery will be reinstalled and you won't get the message when you reboot. If you don't have a disk, try going to the HP site to find the file you need. Did you use the install disk for the HP printer? And the photo gallery is
reinstalled from the printer installation disk? Help, this is driving me nuts. Thanks, gotgr8kids "jwsmooth" wrote: I finally found an answer. Donald - that is the exact issue I'm having!! - I like my HP image zone but can't get it to work anymore becasue of this photogallery.msi business. However, i did what you suggested directing the installer to the photogallery.msi file on teh cd rom but it still doesn't work. I contacted HP but they're no help either. I'm sure that it all has something to do with when I installed a new DVD recorder and I installed NERO that came with it. It must have screwed things up with the file associations and even thought I unistalled nero the problem remains. |

windows installer trying to find a program
I have spent the whole day trying to fix the same problem. I am unable to
access my HP Image Zone and I cannot get the durn thing to go away! I too tried to find a file named Photo Gallery to delete it without having any success finding the file. I had purchased and installed a new program called Reg Cure this morning. It scanned my computer files and found more than 1000 errors on my computer After I hit fix errors this monster (Photo Gallery) showed up on my screen. I have written to be reimbursed for that program as I removed it from my computer. It is really working on my last nerve. Have you found a way to fix this? Reg Cure HMmmmm. Do not use any reg tools. It can create many problems (you are seeing one of them) and by trying to clean the Registry you will not gain anything at all.

I'm glad i check this posting before purchasing Reg Cure. i got the error
1772 when installing a sample test from the AICPA website; I was just about to purchase Reg Cure, but instead i decided to check the microsoft website and found this postings. I downloaded the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility like you recommended, removed the problem, reinstalled my sample test files, and i saved $30. :-) Thanks!! "Peter Foldes" wrote: Reg Cure HMmmmm.
