cd dvd rrw
i have a freecom computer less than a year old
now the dvd multy drive is a lg model gsa - 4167B AND WHOT HAS HAPPEND is a game disc shattered in the drive the drive ejected whot was left of the disc internaly the disc has been cleaned but when re connected to the computer it does not reconise the drive and the cd door remains open wil close but opens again ? i also have a samsung dvd rom that i know is working fine but it is now acting in the same way i have done most searching and also done a system restore but to no avail eney help or sugestions please .

I think some piece of the cd remains in the drive causing problems, open the

the button but opens by it self again. I think it needs to be replaced

A shattered disc causes more problems to the internal working of a drive than just "littering" with left-over CD/DVD media debris. The shattered disc may have damaged a drive motor or some other important control. Replace the drive. -- --- Y.
