Noisy CD-RW drive
Greetings. Lately, my CD-RW drive becomes noisy when I run a disk-
burning program like Nero; it sounds like the CD is rattling in the drive as it spins up. Is this the sign of a drive that's wearing out? It won't burn CDs reliably any more. Thanks. -Rob |

Noisy CD-RW drive
It could be that the spindle that captures and centers the CD is not doing
its job. Try cleaning the drive (Compressed air with the tray open), it a long shot but maybe. If that doesn't work I think you drive is not long for this world. JS "Rob" wrote in message g.com... Noisy CD-RW drive
Probably. Bearing wear allows wobble. Wobble won't allow
the tracks to burn or read as perfect concentric circles, result, a coaster. You can buy a DVD-RW DL drive for very little money and do a real upgrade for $30-70, a direct swap. They are also very fast. "Rob" wrote in message g.com... | Greetings.
