Default cd drive won't open

My cd drive will open after I start m computer up but after a while it quits
responding. The paper clip trick does work but I would rather not have to do
it. I have shut off any program that could possibly be using the drive and it
still doesn't open. My computer is still new and I'm wondering if I need to
take it back for some sort of repairs. Thanks for any help out there.

New computer = warranty. You can take it from there.

I've seen a similar problem but only after running certain installs.
Annoying, I can get the drive back by running record now and try to do
an exact copy. I cancel and the drive is released. Haven't seen the
problem in quite a while.
Also, on occasions the empty drive draw will open all by itself. Don't
see this very often either.
