USB Problem
I bought a reconditioned pent 4 with win xp pro IE 7, but when I try to
install my pixma ip1000 canon printer; the software installs fine, but when it gets to the "driver" part of installation, I get the message that the USB port is "faulty". The USBs are working ok with other harware devices. I have tried to install a driver from the Canon website, but the directions on decompressing the file and installing it don't seem to work. also it says: "d'click setup.exe file", but I can't find where this file is. I have taken the printer in to Canon but they tell me it isn't worth repairing as it is out of warranty. I have checked the USB problems in "Disscussion" but don't understand the terms used: "ghost norton" "mirror drive" etc. I would really appreciate some advice please. |

USB Problem
If the USB ports work with other devices, have you tried the printer on
another computer? Have you tried replacing the USB cable with a known good one. I have had USB cables go bad with repeated plugging/unpluging. "Tassie" wrote in message ...
