A better solution is to purchase imaging software like Acronis True Image and an external hard drive. Install TI, create its bootable rescue CD, image your hard drive, and save the image onto the external hard drive. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" Backup
Actually you can several ways, for user files, documents, settings, etc, the file
transfer wizard works the best, open the FTW thru xp cd,set as old pc,select data to save, save to new folder, move folder to cd when thru.In xp cd,browse cd,either 3rd party or tools, gets the "backup" utility installed on xp home. Also, One can/could completly image xp to another hd,or other,by running XCOPY set a formatted hd as slave to C: (same IDE cable),go to run, type: XCOPY C:\*.* D:\ /c/h/e/k/r Agree to all in DOS window,D: being the new hd, but if given diffrent letter, then use that letter "WALLACE" wrote: Can you backup your hard drive by using Windows X P. home |
