help with timers
Hi Ramesh,
I tried this to see if I could make it work. I already had a shortcut on my Desktop to %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00 for Shutdown. I scheduled it and it didn't work. I got a You do not have permission error. I do not use a password. After downloading and running sthome.vbs from Kelly's Korner I got it to work. :-) That item mentions Home. But it works with Pro also. I have XP Pro and it works for me. 67. Run Scheduled Tasks w/o PW Home http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm I also have a shortcut to %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -r -t 00 for Reboot. I tried this one also and got it to work. So I modified the instructions to reflect the way I got them to work. Use Task Scheduler to schedule the computer to shut down and restart at a specific time. To do so, follow these steps: 01. Create a shortcut to %windir%\System32\shutdown.exe -s -t 00. 02. Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 03. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click Scheduled Tasks. 04.
