Default installing Quickbooks from CD

I received Quickbooks as a gift on a floppy disk. My computer does not have
a floppy, so a friend copied it to a cd. When I try to run the cd, it tells
me that "install was not able to copy MINST.EXE to your windows directory. If
the disk drive is almost full, try removing some files and re-install." My
computer is new, so I don't think I would have a problem with a full drive.
What do I do?

With a version old enough to install from a floppy, it MAY be confused
with the response it gets from the operating system when it checks for
available space and sees a MUCH larger hard drive than the application
developers anticipated.

If it's on ONE floppy disk, then it's very probable that it's so old it's
not compatible with XP anyway, unless it says so....
