Default Administrator - System Restore

When I try to access some files and specifically the System Restore, I get ....
"You do not have sufficient security privelages to restore your system. Blah
blah blah ..."
Obviously I am the System Administrator, so whats wrong? I have no problems
installing stuff, and my XP files are all up to date. I asked Microsoft to
help once, it resulted in a disc corruption!
Anybody got ideas?? Thanks

What are you trying to do? You can't access the System Restore files
directly nor is there any reason you would want to.

Please give a good description of your computer, the version of XP you're
running, and your end goal. These links will show you what to include in
your next post so we can help you:

Yes I am using Win XP Home with all drivers and updates installed. I am the
administrator, but when I go to the System Properties there is no System
Restore Tab, or if I go to System Configuration Utility and Launch System
Restore, it says "You do not have sufficient security privelages to restore
your
system. Blah blah blah ..."

It does both of these options if I go into Safemode as the administrator.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time things
worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:
