Default SOLVED: How to download an ISO image for Office 2007 Pro in the year 2018

If those settings make them frail (which is what you're implying), then so

A _bit_ of a weak argument, unless you always leave everything set the
way it is supplied (lots of Microsoft settings most people change, such
as the "don't display known extensions" one).

Well, as I recall, /all/ those Costco USB hard disk drives had a backup
utility on them, as did all the flash sticks as I recall (I bought so many
over the years, that certainly a /lot/ of them had backup utilities on
them.)

To your point, I never used those default utilities, where I simply deleted
them or left them there (but usually I deleted them as they ruined the
otherwise clean backup hierarchy I maintained).

BTW, a funny thing happened when I was showing others in the thread how to
make a Windows size-limited folder that a hard disc drive disc doesn't fit
in a DVD spindle.
http://wetakepic.com/images/2018/03/05/hdd_disc_2.jpg

I spilled over the spindle snapping the pic, and guess what I found!

Yup. There it was. All along. The missing disc!
Office 2007 official download, from June 2017. It was there all along!

The good news is that someone said somewhere that mobile phones, e.g., my
mobile phone which ties nicely to Windows file explorer via either FTP...

Or via USB...
http://wetakepic.com/images/2018/03/...on_windows.jpg

Does /not/ need to run through the USB-eject sequence.

Do you concur with that sentiment that mobile phones are different in that
regard from USB disks and sticks?

You can't skip that same step in the real world.

Oh, _a_ step is it (-:?

Seriously, to me it's _obvious_ that you have to do something - and
_wait_ for whatever is involved to complete - before physically
disconnecting a USB drive (whether flash or spinning). How many clicks
is involved is fairly immaterial: it should be obvious when it has
completed. (The "safe to remove" is usually a good indication!) [I don't
know if you get that using "eject".]

I do get the same notification when I use 'Eject'.

That's like asking a young lady to check the bar for hoodlums before she
walks by with a short skirt so that she won't get raped.

Are you still of the notion that short skirts invite rape? I thought
that myth had been thoroughly debunked back in the '60's.

I only mention it because you've used this flawed analogy more than once
now.

There were more than one, but you only need one bad rape to remember it
most.

Comparing data loss to rape sort of trivializes rape, no?

Maybe we should have a little less rape talk and stay focused on the
Windows aspects of the thread. :-)

You should really get over this rape obsession of yours!

But, once more, your sick analogy is invalid, because I am talking -
in the part you dishonestly silently snipped - about *after* the fact,
i.e. *after* the filesystem was allegedly corrupted and you repaired it.

[More sick nonsense deleted.]

It's one if you're already in File Explorer, two if not, three if
you're totally unprepared.

As I said, it's funny how those who wish to make a point that it's easy,
always subtract clicks. It's not a big deal. It's just interesting.

*Who* are those "those"!? First you accuse me of trying to minimize
the number of clicks, now it's "those". Cite the evidence of your
accusations or STFU.

[More ******** deleted.]

We're not trying to prove a point. We don't have to. We only try to
provide information to a person who is both too pompous and too clueless
to learn from that information.

You keep pushing your emotions on me. You don't even know who I am, and you
never will (God willing).

They are not 'emotions', but blatantly obvious observations, which are
shared by many - if not all - others.

[More episodes of pompous self-patting on the back deleted.]

As I said, I use the USB drives stock. If they have any settings on them,
as supplied by Costco, then those are the settings I use.

It's an OS i.e. Windows setting, not a device setting (Hint: Most USB
drives have no buttons, so any configuration must be done from/in the
OS.)

Given your attitude, I really can't be bothered to spoon feed you any
further.

You have to admit, that sentence is kind of funny, considering it was
everyone else, except you, who helped solve the stated problem set.

*Which* "stated problem set" would that be, oh wise one?

I am sorry that I did not get the memo which says that any and all
responses to any and all NetNews articles by the obnoxious pompous
nymshifter currently known as 'ultred ragnusen', must "help to solve the
problem set" stated by said obnoxious pompous nymshifter.

So I just responded to your misconceptions about what amount of
filesystem corruption / data loss an improper disconnect of a USB disk
drive can and can not do.

Can't do the time, ...

P.S. I sincerely apologize for my help to solve the stated problem set
of your Gmail problem.

Simply responding to your needs, please do not blindly ascribe /your/
emotional hangups to my motives.
