Default Can you help me to reset windows 8?

Good afternoon, I wish to know if biosflash software is needed (I've
uninstalled it) to reset windows 8 that came preinstalled from store.
I've read somewhere that we need a key code from microsoft. Can you help me?

Thanks a lot.

No. If you would ever need to perform any type of repair to Windows,
bios-flash software would not be needed.

You are welcome. It's /very/ unlikely you would ever need to flash your
bios but if you did, I am sure the software would be available from the
manufacturer of your machine.

As I said before, I've uninstalled bios-flash utility that came
pre-installed from store or factory. Thought it would not be needed.

I think you are missing the point here. Bios flash has nothing to do
with Windows; Also, you CAN'T "uninstall" bios flash because it is
embedded in the computer chips. It is always required to start your
machine otherwise the machine is completely useless. BIOS stands for
Basic Input Output Service.

What you needed most is the recovery disks that you make when you buy a
new machine. You always need the recovery disks otherwise you can't
restore the system to its factory settings.

Have you deleted the hidden partition as well? If so then you are kaput
because you won't be able to restore the system without the OS disk or
Recovery disks. You need either the hidden partition or the recovery disks.

what is the make and model of your machine.

I meant to say this:

BIOS = Basic Input/Output System

There are programs (I remember ASUS supporting this) that allow you to
flash the BIOS under Windows. So you /can/ uninstall BIOS flash
programs.

That's correct, but the OP, by uninstalling the program did not do
anything to the bios itself. At any rate he has no need to trouble
himself with the issue.

==================

The question would be if windows 8 needs to access bios to reset to factory
default state. I had a preinstalled bios flash utility but I've uninstalled
it. Now I wish to know if it is needed to reset windows 8 to factory
default.

Once again....no.

That utility is not needed nor does it have anything to do with Windows.

Do not worry about it.

BTW: If you ever did perform a "factory restore" that program would just
return anyway.
