Default How to rid computer of AVAST.

---had Avast antivirus but boot times were too long.
So I did a Complete Uninstall which claimed to get it gone.
BUT, boot times were still too long so I checked Task
Manager and ---it was Avast running!
I did a "search" and found several Avast files but they wont
accept "delete" nor can I move them to the recycle bin or rename them.
How do I get rid of this dammed thing?

Ctrol+Alt+Del to bring up Task Manager. Stop the running processes so you
can delete them.

You have to exit/shutdown a program first to uninstall.

KenW

in the background.

I tried a system restore --that failed too, because "a program
was still running" [yeah! the parts of Avast the uninstaller failed to get!]

I reinstalled Avast and used a different uninstaller
("Absolute Uninstaller"). IT did a complete uninstall so
I'm now free from of Avast!

If you had been around long enough to be aware of the OP's history here
you wouldn't think the remarks were inane. Anything that guy posts is
suspect.

How many of Pfsszxt's postings have you actually read? You should read
the one about his router's password, it's a classic.
