Default Disappearing Drive

The major upgrade installed last week. Since then, one of my internal
drives (F keeps disappearing. I thought maybe it was a power setting
so I restored the defaults but nothing changed. The drive is there
when I reboot but will go away again after some time. I have no idea
what is causing this but have made a backup just in case. Any
suggestions?

Is it NOT your OS drive?

Power Options has a setting that turn off a hard disk after being idle
for 20 minutes, by default.

You may have to go to "Disk Management" and re scan.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've done everything I can think of,
including disk management. I tried using a different SATA port and the
computer would not boot. The problem drive works fine as an external
USB3 drive. I now believe there is a problem with the motherboard and
I plan to update the computer next week. It's time to do that anyway
as it has some age on it.
