MS Installer "Preparing to install ...."
XP Pro up to date
MS Installer starts after each reboot and displays "Preparing to install ...." but nothing ever appears in the Message box to be installed. By the time the boot process completes, then the Message box disappears. I do have the Windows Install Cleanup Tool but I can not figure which item to delete. Where in the Registry could I ascertain what is causing the message box to start each reboot and delete it? TIA EagleOne |

MS Installer "Preparing to install ...."
Jim,
Thanks for the note: I did/do have this tool. Frankly, the only way to use it is to delete selected installations. There is no listing by date otherwise I would delete my last; then next last install until I found the incomplete install causing the problem. Is there not a registry entry that is set to run at boot-up where the Installer is initiated to run?
