bootup help
I have a major problem.
I wanted to change my bootup start screen. I did so with a program refered from this group. However, it made like a partrition beginning where you had to wait 15 seconds or click on windows xp home. I saw another post that said just delete this line from your boot.ini. I did that, and now I can't get my computer back up. It won't even run the recovery windows xp disk. I don't know what to do, I have tried everything I can think. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Vladaar |

bootup help
Hi Vladaar,
You left out 'plenty' of details. First off, which program and referred by who(m)? Perhaps that responder can better help you. I would also like to see who (and why) told you to remove a line from boot.ini and what it entailed. Suggestions: If you can run this from RC, I don't know. I have never tested it (but will). Good luck! Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon In the right pane scroll down to UIHost. Double click it and type this in under Value Data: logonui.exe -- All the Best, Kelly MS-MVP Win98/XP-Shell/User [AE-Windows® XP] Troubleshooting Windows XP http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm "Vladaar" wrote in message ...
