Default cannot receive faxs, see many other posts about this, help!!

One of the reasons Microsoft is unable solve problems like these is that
they seem to be occurring sporadically and only with certain modems and
drivers. Microsoft has not been able to reproduce the behavior with the
modems that appear on the Windows HCL list. To investigate problems like
these it is necessary to turn on logging of the fax transmissions that
produce these error messages and to send the logs to them for analysis.

To do so,
1. Save the attached LogActivate.txt and LogDeActivate.txt

2. Rename these files to LogActivate.reg and LogDeActivate.reg,
respectively.
3. To start logging, double-click on LogActivate.reg (to merge the keys to
the registry).
4. To stop logging, double-click on LogDeActivate.reg.

Logs will be created in %windir%\temp (e.g., c:\Windows\Temp). To modify
this location change the value of LoggingFolder (in the files), e.g. to
"drive:\MyLogs".

The log files will be named FSPSxxx.log for Send jobs, and FSPRxxx.log for
Receive jobs, where xxx is any decimal number between 000-999.

Makes sure you log only a transmission that produces an error. If you
generate such logs, I can see that they get to the correct place for
analysis.

I wished Microsoft could at least acknowledge that a
possible problem exists with the XP Fax program. We are
all having similar problems and wasting our time loading
and reloading modem drivers, for something which is
perhaps a known weakeness in XP.
