Default Unable to format the PC

Hi,

I have got windows XP home edition on my PC.
Yesterday the PC suddenly crashed and displayed the error
message "UNMOUNTABLE_DISK_VOLUME".
I tried a no. of options to correct the error but didnot
succeed. At last I thought of formatting the pc.
I have 3 types of recovery disks.
1) System recovery
2) Application recovery
3) Driver Recovery

I tried to hard boot the PC using the system recovery disk.
The process ran for a few seconds and then stops
displaying the error message
"DISK ACCESS:SENSE OPERATION FAILED".

Now when i try to boot my PC without the Recovery disk, I
get the error "Missing Operating System"
and If i try to boot it using the System Recovery disk, I
get the error "DISK ACCESS:SENSE OPERATION FAILED".

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gaurav

Gaurav;
Power off, open the case and reseat the hard drive IDE ribbon cable at
both ends.
If that fails:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=315403

Otherwise contact the computer manufacturer since you obviously have
recovery CDs.
