Default XP Home Update

I loaded the new XP home security update and it looked as
if it ran fine. The next day, I tried to print to my
printer (lexmark X75 USB through a dlink USB 7 port hub)
and the computer rebooted twice before it finally came
back up. The MS Critical error page stated that I needed
to load a new driver for my usb-serial converter (which I
use to sync my palm). I downloaded the driver and tried
to print again and the computer rebooted again. This
time, I rolled back to a restore point prior to loading
the update and I was able to print without any trouble.

Any ideas?!?
