Default virtual memory

since reinstalling windows xp I keep getting the message

"Windows created a tempory paging file on your computer
because of a problem that occurred with your paging file
configuration. When you started your computer the total
pageing file sizw for all disk drives may be some what
larger than the size you specified"

can any one advice me on how to correct this problem.
Also some of my programs will no longer run and I get a
message telling me I do not have enough RAM, which I am
assuming is all part of the same problem.

Set virtual memory to be managed by Windows.. there is little to be gained
by setting the pagefile to a small size, as you have found.. if it is space
that you need, consider getting a larger HDD..
