If popups are caused by windows messenger, then why isnt there security patches to protect you? Does anyone know if the government is working to stop all the spyware problems ?

Greetings Lucy,

The popups are caused by the built-in service in Windows called the Messenger Service -- NOT
Windows Messenger. The Messenger Service simply receives messages and displays them -- that
is the extent of what it can do [it is not classified as 'spyware'].

The internet is a global network, it is literally impossible to do anything about spyware via
legislation.

It is a serious mistake to ask the government to solve every problem that we have. Everything gov't does makes it bigger and more poweful, like a benevolent dictator. Problem is that the powerful can change after they get the power. The framers of our cons
titution knew this and wrote the constitution so as to minimize the power of the fereral gov't. Over the years we have let the federal gov't grow in power to an extent that would shock the founding fathers.
For info go to www.lp.org.
