I guess that only happens during your weekend, because I never
experienced that. However, there /are/ outages now and then, but hey,

Indeed! Until this last week or so, I've never had any problems with ES.
Given that it's free, I'm grateful!

Given that there are now three of us who have said much the same
thing, you have to wonder what T must have been doing wrong to have
had so many problems with it.

Oh bite me Ken. There are other that experience the
same issue I have complaining all over the place.

What is your general location?

Sincethere are many who have no problems [I'm one], and as you said
recently there have been many who are having periodic problems, as well
as problems in the past ... it makes you wonder if some servers in
various locations are overloaded. At least, it does me.

Three is a very small minority compared to the number of
problems/complaints I've seen over the years, Ken. Whilst offering a
good service for free, ES's always been quite flaky - especially for
Thunderbird users.

No problems here except for a couple of days this week. That would
suggest TB is the flaky bit.

Until the current problems - now, touch wood, over - I've not had any
problems over several years.

I don't use TB (I use Turnpike, an old software). To be fair, I've seen
an explanation - can't remember if it was here or elsewhere - that there
is something about the way ES does something that _can_ make TB and ES
get into a condition that needs manual intervention (a sort of race
condition, with one side responding too soon, or something like that);
it seems neither are likely to fix the fault, as it only occurs rarely,
and only with the other "party".
