Default MSN news problem

Windows 10 Version 1709 build 16299.64.
When I start MSN news from a start button tile and choose s subject to
read, as I scroll down with the mouse wheel to keep reading, suddenly it
flips to anther subject and my page disappears and I am on another
subject page.
If I close that one and select the original one again I can then scroll
and read it right to the end.
This only started happening 3 or 4 days ago, I have deleted MSN news and
reloaded a new copy from the Microsoft store with no improvement.
This is the only program that misbehaves like this.
Any thoughts or hints appreciated.

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but perhaps use a browser?
That's what I do when I want to see what MSN has to say. (Firefox)

I would file a bug on the Feedback Hub.

*******

While you can modify incoming web pages to some extent with
TamperMonkey (it at least installs in Edge), you'd need a
web designer to program it for you.

And while the MSN App probably uses .js and HTML for its "code",
it's unclear to me to what extent it's "just a web page".
It probably is, but would the MSN App actually allow Tampermonkey
to run inside it ? I don't understand the .js and HTML world
well enough, to know "what things work with other things"
in that domain.

MSN_APP (.js and HTML) --- feeds Edge engine ???

vs

--- Tampermonkey plugin (tampering) --- MSEdge web page view

*******

MSN News is also available in Android, so you could try it there.

*******

And if you were thinking "I could write a better App than that",
you can... :-)

The App Studio even has a sample app called "Windows 10 News".

Look at the fun I'm missing.

Now if I only had a Web Monkey Degree.

Unfortunately I don't have any Android devises, I gave away my android
tablet.
I will file a bug on feedback as Paul suggests and see what happens. It's
not a deal breaker, Just a pain in the posterior to select and start
them twice.
I will play with it some more, maybe pick a different news feed if this
one won't behave.

I think I've found the problem. In the settings (gear Icon) there is a
switch called "play next Video automatically" which was *ON* so I turned
it *OFF*.
I never turned it on, In fact I have never ever even looked at those
settings ever.
It seems to have happened after patch Tuesday, Maybe coincidence (or not).
Anyway It seems to be fine now,, no more jumping to next subject.

A similar issue occurred on MSN web sites on an earlier Windows 10 version
though number of incidents was quite small.

Iirc, two of the possible causes(each different) was the mouse wheel button
horizontal movement settings. In one case it was the horizontal button
setting(3rd party mouse software overriding Windows mouse settings); the
other was the MSN page interpreting the wheel horizontal movement as page
change to the next available index article(as if one had clicked on the web
page '' icon in the displayed article.

The first one, the user never provided a follow-up response to validate, the
other the problem disappeared(user either changed something or MSN did).

Both of the above reports were W10/IE.

There were also some similar experiences(article index to next or prior)
reported using Edge.

Your issue may be similar or a variant if occurring on the Windows 10 MSFT
'News' app.

Thanks Winston, I thought I had it cured but it returned today. So I
Installed the latest Logitech software and drivers
for the M510 mouse, no help.
Installed new batteries, No help
Changed the vertical and horizontal wheel scroll settings, no help
Installed a new wired Mouse, no help.
So now having eliminated the mouse I guess it must be some screwup in
the MSN news app itself, I will have to wait and see.
