Default Invalid File Created Date on Novell Server

Please help!!!

Netware 6.5 SP1.a
IBM NetFinity - x335
Memory: 1.5 GB
NetShield - 4.61d Engine - 4.3.20 - Latest Dat File installed

Novell Clients - 4.83 sp1, 4.9SP1a - Package B
Client Workstations - NT, Win2000, XP

When updating a file in any application the created date will change to
todays date.
Example : File Properties before any changes are made:

Created: June 23, 2004 - 12:59:08 pm
Modified: July 2, 2004 - 10:35:38 am
Accessed: July 2, 2004 - 12:00:00 am

When I make a change(Edit the file in Word (Latest Version)) and save my
changes the file properties change to the following:
Created: June 30, 2004 - 12:59:08 pm
Modified: June 30, 2004 - 12:59:08 pm
Accessed: June 30, 2004 - 12:00:00 pm

The Accessed and Modified Date are correct, but the Created Date and Time
is changed to todays date and time of the file being saved. If I save
the file on the workstation, the File Properties display the correct
information. (Created Date - is the original date & time) (Modified &
Accessed - Change correctly)

If I save the same file with NotePad - The Created date is the original date and time and the Modified & Accessed - Change correctly.

If I save the same file with WordPad - The created date is the same as the Modified and Accessed date and time.

Is this a Client issues or a server issue????
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is the clock wrong on one of the machines (why else would it change to a
date in the past)?

Some programs (especially word processors) may work with a temporary copy
of the file, and then save the temporary file to the original file when
you save it. So the effective creation date may be when the temporary
file was created, which would be the current date.
