Printers added automatically
-----Original Message----- XP Pro seems to be promiscuous and finds networked printers and automatically adds them to its printers list. I do not want printers on the list unless I intentionally add them. How do I disable this feature? . I am having the same problem. Please help us! Thanks |

Printers added automatically
This is a feature of the explorer process. You should also be getting
connections to shared folders. I have to admit some people like this. If you can live without both open any explorer window Tools / Folder Options / View / Automatically search for network folders and printers You know what to do This feature only kicks in on Workgrouped machines. It does not function when the machine is joined to a domain. -- Alan Morris Microsoft Printing Team Search the Microsoft Knowledge Base he http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];kbhowto This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
