Default help.....:(

my printer was working fine, until I tried to print one
day and got the message "you need to install a printer
before you can perform this operation". I tried to
uninstall and reinstall...no use. I keep getting the
message "this operation cannot be completed" when I try
to add a printer. I checked my print spooler service and
it has been started..my printer is a Lexmark Z52.
please help

It's a Lexmark.

Follow the instructions at Bruce Sanderson's website... pay particular
attention to his special section on Lexmark printers.

http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

After rebooting, ensure the print spooler is running - from the command
prompt, type net start spooler (and hit enter)

If still no joy, from the command prompt, type

sfc /scannow

(reboot the PC after this)

Any joy?
