Default mic and earphones

i am wanting to know what i should do with getting a mic slash earphones for
online gaming with chat i have a set right now that just have plugs but the
problem is the mic plug is in back while the earphone part is in front should
i get the USB ones since i have usb hooh ups in front thank you for your
support just wandering what the difference would be?if it is USB does it comw
with drivers and or software since it would be USB?thanks ...........Darryl
