Removing Windows XP Home Edition
Heres what I want to do. I want to remove Windows XP and
reformat the hard drive so I can start over. Windows XP does not show up in the remove programs box under the control panel. Neither will it let me remove it from the dos prompt by reformating the drive...it says volume in use and then it tells me the drive isnt locked...very confusing..." Oh how I wish for the good ole days when I was in control of the computer!" Any advice will be greatly appreciated. |

Removing Windows XP Home Edition
Greetings --
Since when could you ever "uninstall" an operating system from within itself? Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.) Or you can have freedom. Don't ever count on having both at once. -- RAH "Chris" wrote in message ... Heres what I want to do.
