Default Logon issues

My home computer is running XP Pro and was bought retail.

Originally it was setup to automatically logon with the
built-in Administrator account. I went through the User
Accounts in Control Panel to change to use the
traditional logon screen. Then I required the Ctrl + Alt
+ Del combination to logon through the Local Security
Policy.

This all works fine, however the system is trying to
logon when it starts up using the Administrator user name
with no password. I renamed that account and of course it
has a password. I have checked everything but the
registry for a way to fix that but I have found nothing.
I do not get this problem after just logging off, only at
startup.

Does anyone have a suggestion or ten? This is not
something critical, just very annoying.

Hi Chris,

Are you trying to stop it from auto logining in or are you trying to get it
to auto login with the new name and password?

Thx,

Hello Chris, How exactly did you rename the administrator account? It's
best to do so using the local or group policy.

Also XP and 2000 will remember the last logon account. You can change that
setting via policy also.
