Does anyone know how and where you can reset the file that
counts the days on program's free trial?

Sure, just uninstall your Operating System, then reinstall it. :-D

Or you could try registering the program (paying for it) if you decide you
like it enough to use it past it's free trial period. If you haven't had
enough time to examine the program, and need more time, you can write to the
programmer/website and ask them if there is any way to extend your trial
period, they may be able to help you..

Nope, since it varies with the program.

You could, of course, set your system date a full year in advance when
downloading 'free trails' and then you would have a year and a month to
play. Don't forget to set it back after the download.

Most of the techniques used these days detect that. They check the date =
is 1 to 30 days from install date not, as in the old days CurDate =
Install Date + 30, and if CurDate at any stage isn't in the 1 - 30 days =
it locks up, assuming you played with your date.
