I want to upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro. I am new to database development
and had I known that Home doesn't support IIS, I would have gone with Pro when I bought this machine. Anyway, I was on the Microsoft upgrade pages, and there was a message from someone trying to do the same thing saying that he could not upgrade (It couldn't find the path) because he had installed SP2. Has anyone else had problems upgrading? Should I uninstall SP2 prior to attempting the upgrade? Any tips for how to make this a smooth transition? |

Hi
A couple of options: You can create a sliptreamed SP2 CD, with which you can upgrade Home Sp2 to Pro SP2 Download the SP2 file (266 MBs) from he http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en - or if you have the SP2 CD, copy the xpsp2.exe file from that CD onto your hard disk/partition: Then follow the directions in the following article: http://www.msfn.org/articles.php?act...showarticle=49 Otherwise you can use the XP Pro CD to 'downgrade' to SP1/1a, then re-install SP2. -- Will Denny MVP - Windows Shell/User Please reply to the News Groups "Rusty" wrote in message ...
