Hi. I have 2 computers, one is Windows 98 Second Edition and the other is
Windows XP SP2 Home edition. I noticed that on the XP computer, the background of the desktop icons and their associated words blend in, as if they are transparent with the wallpaper, no matter what wallpaper is selected and what desktop color is chosen. In Windows 98, no matter what wallpaper is selected, the desktop icons and their words retain the color of the selected desktop. For example, on both computers I have a wallpaper of my dog. On the XP computer, the words and icons blend right over the picture, but on the 98 computer, the icons and words have the desktop color, in this case, blue behind them, which makes them stand out. Is this something that was changed in XP, and if so, how can I make it in XP so the desktop icons and their associated words have the colored background like win 98 so they stand out? Thanks for any help. |

Turn off the "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option", and click Ok. Malke -- MS MVP - Windows Shell/User Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" |
