It'll be a cold day in hell before I use Windows 10. I only can use XP
online, because I am unable to get the internet at home, where I live.
So I must rely on going to a place that has WIFI. My old laptop can only
run XP. My home computer has Win7, but obviously that cant go online.

There is no other OS, unless you mean Linux, and that is truly junk.
Im considering buying a newer laptop computer that will run Win7, but
before I'd even consider using Win10, I'll buy an Apple computer.

Windows 7 is the last usable OS made by Microsoft.

And by the way, Google can **** off. THEY DO NOT OWN THE INTERNET!

Seven should run on anything that will run XP, albeit slower.
I have the opportunity to look at them side by side on the same
machine since I have both system drives in one machine. I just select
which one will be C: with the boot selector in BIOS.

Don't be silly. People have tried blocking Google from their lives and
they became suicidal; Some of them even lost their jobs because of
their stupidity of blocking top corporations in the tech world. Watch
Kashmir Hill's story in this short video:

https://gizmodo.com/i-cut-google-out-of-my-life-it-screwed-up-everything-1830565500

Don't make that mistake. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Apple owns this
planet jointly.

Im using an older version of firefox cuz the newer ones are bloated and
slow down my 12 yr old computer too much. But i keep being reminded that
I need HTML5 to watch youtube videos and other stuff.

Besides not wanting bloatware to put my computer into turtle mode, Ive
heard that HTML5 is just another gateway to allow malware on my system.

Yes, I have exactly the same problem.

Sometime ago I upgraded to an older version of Firefox because the
newer bloated versions made my computer run too slowly, and now I keep
getting told that my browser can't view videos -- not that I'd want to
in most cases anyway.

Here is another browser to try out.

It runs one process and doesn't have process isolation.

It handles HTML5, according to the descriptions I could find.

Another one is Maxthon.

I started using it when Facebook blocked my Firefox browser, unless I
downloaded something on to my computer, which I refused to do.

Maxthon is a bit clunky, but it seems to work OK with Windows XP.

On your next post, include details of the computer so we
can figure out what your options are.

Amount of RAM (Task Manager memory tab might give a hint)
CPU type "Pentium 4 2.93GHz 2MB cache"
Chipset "X48/ICH9"
Video card "ATI 9200"

https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html ("Windows 98" version?)
https://www.techspot.com/downloads/4452-gpu-z.html (WindowsXP/Vista/7)

The utilities can give you various bits of information.

Of those, the amount of memory gives some idea of the
latitude of what you can do. The chipset gives an idea
of how decrepit the memory bandwidth is (I have a system
here with 1.5GB of RAM [good] but only 300MB/sec of
memory bandwidth [bad]).

And whether you have a BIOS popup boot menu matters too,
as machines with a popup boot, might also support
booting from a USB flash stick. Which is a practical
way of booting alternate OSes so you can web surf.
But that's only worth doing, with gobs of RAM.

Teeny tiny RAM computers, the options are limited.
With 512MB of RAM (typical in that era), options
are limited.

*******

You can get refurbished Core2 machines. This is the
right time of year to try to acquire one. The Core2
tells me that installing WinXP is an option, as you'd
be able to find drivers. The video card is the only
questionable item. The details section says "Integrated Video",
which means chipset video. Probably VGA output.

"HP Refurbished ELITE 8000 Tower, 3GHz Intel Core2 Duo E8400, 500 GB HDD, 4GB DDR3, Win10 Home" $149

https://www.staples.ca/en/hp-refurbi...0_1-CA_1_20001

JoySystems refurbs are available at several major
department store chains. That's if you can convince the
web site to list the stuff.

And you don't want more modern systems ($500), because then
there might not be drivers for WinXP for the video card.

For $149, an equivalent tablet might not have a lot of
horsepower. A Chromebook would be slow in any case, but
might allow viewing Youtube videos.
