Default increasing logging level.. how?

I remember from earlier times that there was a way to increase
logging level for NT systems. I just can't remember how that worked.
(my NT certification is long gone... NT 3.51 ;-)

To be specific, my PC hangs during hibernation without any error message.
I'd like to troubleshoot this with some higher level of logging, eventually
to the eventlog (or wherever). With Windows XP, what should I do and where?

Any hints are very appreciated..

Thanks a lot

Dan
