Windows XP Home Edition Reinstallation
I was trying to reinstall windows on my laptop using the same CD and product
key I used before. I recieved an error message that the key was no good and would like to use a copy of XP Pro that I have but can't get our of the XP home installation and restart the setup. It is stuck in a blue screen loop and no matter how I boot up it loads to the XP home setup. Any tips would be very helpful. I can purchase a new copy of XP but am afraid of not getting out of this loop to ever install it. Please help. Thanks, Brian |

Windows XP Home Edition Reinstallation
Hi Brian,
If you really would like to erase that copy of your Windows XP Home, I suppose you can just simply insert the XP Pro Installation CD during the boot. It should be the case where you are prompted to install XP pro and overwrite the XP home. Presumably after you activated that CD-Key, you cannot use it on different machine. So, I think that causes the problem. "Brian" wrote: I was trying to reinstall windows on my laptop using the same CD and product key I used before.
