PC problem or IE/OE problem
I have 2 pc's, both of which run Win XP Home, IE7 and for mail OE. My every
day pc has SP3, while the older one has SP2. Here's the problem. I received a job application form from my daughter, asking me to print it off because she had no ink in her printer. I received it through OE. On viewing the form, unbroken lines were seen to run through the centre of the text. It printed like that. She told me that when the form was sent it was clear and had no lines. That was on my every day pc which is a HP Pavilion. I have run AVG 8 as well as anti spyware and anti malware with nothing found An older pc was set up, and after downloading all the updates I asked the sender to send the form again. This showed and printed a perfect image image. I have no Idea what has caused this problem, but would appreciate all offers in finding a solution to the problem. Thank you. |

PC problem or IE/OE problem
Hello,
What format was the form in, i.e., eml, txt, rtf, doc, docx, wpt, etc.? Was it sent as an attachment or as the email itself? Have you since attempted to view and print the new file on the original machine? What do you mean by "unbroken lines"? Does your daughter's computer have the same operating system? Is it an older model computer than your "every day" machine? Did you receive the second file on the older pc through OE? Some of the answers to these questions may or may not be relevant, but they may help me or someone else pinpoint your problem. It is quite possible that the original file was corrupted somehow between the sending and receiving. You may not have needed to set up the older pc to solve your problem since you did not attempt to view and print the original file on it. You just had it resent, which means that your solution may have been to have the file resent to begin with. Just to satisfy curiosity, transfer the new file to your "every day" machine or the original computer you tried to print from and see if you get the same result as you originally encountered. I hope this helps. -- Peace, Jeffrey W. Bowen Remove NO SPAM entries from email address to send personal email.
