We can't analysis Hijackthis here in Ms Newsgroup, try to send it to a
hijackthis forum.
You are play lots of games on this machine and also you have a sharing
application which can harbour viruses and malware to your machine!
Read this about one entry, there are other I'm sure.
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/pnkbstra/

For games you need lots of RAM, desk space and powerful Video Card and a
good CPU cooler.

Okay, well, I do appreciate evryone giving advice, but you do have to
also read the thread.

as I said b4 this is the situation:

1. I previously had Norton AV and Windows installed, then i uninstalled
them both when i thought it would fix the BSODs.

2. I reinstalled Windows, and put Avast on INSTEAD of Norton. I ran
disk checks with the two boxes checked to fix error ect.

3. I then disabled ALL functions of Avast and ran a scan with the
antimalware program, which detected a trojan which is now gone.

Attached is the *Hijack report.*

Did you not read this advice I gave?

Run Malwarebytes' and turn off your current anti-virus
before you do to avoid a conflict. Disregard the invitation on the
web site regarding the Registry Optimiser -a Registry Optimiser is
not a helpful utility.

Okay just an update
The trojan was called backdoor.trojan, it was in quarantine but i
deleted.

Now i performed the disk check that Gerry recommended.
I attached the analysis report and made a backup of my files and a
restore point.

Should i still defragment my drive, cause it does need it quiet a bit.

And idk what in the world the "nostrises" are lol. and i dont know
where u saw that cause i dont see it in my original post. I do apologize
for me abominable spelling/typing.

A "backdoor.trojan" is a class of malware and not the specific name. If
I had the latter we might have some idea of the type of damage it can
do.

Select Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk CleanUp to
Empty your Recycle Bin and Remove Temporary Internet Files. Run Disk
Defragmenter.

What was the answer regarding your anti-spyware arrangements? You have
none that I can see!

I use Spybot S & D (freeware) for this purpose.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/o...rs1/index.html

Download and run Spybot S & D.

Next select Start, Run type "cmd" without quotes and click on OK. Type
"chkdsk /f /r without quotes and depress the ENTER key. Answer Y to the
question and depress the ENTER key. Type "exit" without quotes and
depress the ENTER key to return to Windows. Restart the computer and
allow chkdsk to run to completion.

That wiil complete the simpler tasks in:
Background information on Stop Error message
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms793935.aspx

If uninstalling PunkBuster does not eliminate there are further things
in the last link we can try.

It could be PunkBuster that is causing your BSOD's. The way to test is
to uninstall. My suspicion is based on this Google search.
http://snurl.com/kl9rg [www_google_co_uk]

The Google search is not conclusive, only worthy of investigation. It
was first item I researched in your HijackThis log.

Windows cannot be "uninstalled." It is important to tell us *exactly*
what you did.

Did you perform a Clean Install of Windows XP? Repair Install? Parallel
Install? Which specific method did you use?

If you are getting BSODs after a Clean Install, you surely have a
hardware problem. See this page for guidance:

by uninstalling windows i meant that I went into the BIOS, booted from
CD, then I deleted the partition that windows was on, repartitioned it
and then i installed windows on that partition. I have another partition
of my hard drive which i have left untouched.

The trojan I dont know what it was called specifically i found it with
the software that Gerry recommended which i have uninstalled. In the log
it jst says backdoor.trojan

Also I have removed Punkbuster, with the Hijackthis application, and
then uninstalled it with add/remove programs. However my computer still
gets BSODs when i play games.

If i start up a game my computer crashses about 90% of the time, but
jst listning to music and internet browsing seem to be fine most of the
time, also when my computer has crashed it often gets stuck on checking
USB controllers when starting up agian, idk if that has anything to do
with it...

Are any devices malfunctioning? Select Start, All Programs, Accessories,
System Tools, System Information. Open Components under System Summary
and click on Problem Devices. Is anything listed there?

Are there any yellow question marks in Device Manager? Right click on
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties,
Hardware,Device Manager. If yes what is the Device Error code?

Have you disabled automatic restart on system failure?

Disable automatic restart on system failure. This should help by
allowing time to write down the STOP code properly. Right click on
the My Computer icon on the Desktop and select Properties, Advanced,
Start-Up and Recovery, System Failure and uncheck box before
Automatically Restart.Do not re-enable automatic restart on system
failure.

Have a look in the System and Application logs in Event Viewer for
Errors and Warnings and post copies here. Don't post any more than 24
hours ago.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Non of my hardware is malfunctioning. I think the BSODs have something
to do with running msn to. When i game signed into msn my computer

Sounds like you performed a Clean Install. Did you install all the
correct hardware drivers?

It's a shame you reinstalled all those programs right away. If the BSODs
occur immediately after a fresh Clean Install, then there is a nearly
100% chance you have faulty hardware. Also, it is important to
disconnect all peripheral devices, leaving only mouse, keyboard, and
monitor.

Tell me what you have on this other partition which you "have left
untouched." I wonder if there might be malware on it that has not been
detected.

But since the crashes occur during gaming, this points to memory or
graphics card problems. Other than Memtest 86+, you really should run
other memory diagnostics, including the one he

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp

If you are able to obtain another graphics card, I would swap the
current one with it to see what happens.

If you really feel this is a software issue (I very much doubt it), see
if the problem occurs after having configured a Clean Boot:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

Finally, this group might be more beneficial for you to post to:

You did not answer this question.

What do you have connected to USB ports? Which devices are always

What game were you playing when the BSOD errors occurred?

It said something about the ntfs.sys file, so idk if its the harddrive
or windows.
Here is the MSDN article for diagnosing your particular STOP error.

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ms793935.aspx

It seems the cause is disk corruption. I would get your data backed up immediately, then run chkdsk /f /r on it. It could mean the hard disk is failing or that the drivers for your hard disk are corrupted.

Default Multiple BSODs

THe BSODs occured after the boot process, and I dont have any yellow
question marks on the device manager.
I usually just have my keyboard (merc Zboard) and mouse, in the USB
ports, and sometimes also my Logitech 5000 Webcam.
The games i have played recently are Tom clancy's Las Vagas 2 and
Demigod.

Also to answer the *oztrailrider*, and *Daave*,

- I ran WMD it didnt come up with anything.
- other partition has been scanned also, its where i found the Trojan
actually.

I have run disk checks on both partitions multiple times now and it
hasn't changed anything
- I have also defragmented them
- After i made a clean install of windows the BSODs only occurred
after i installed all the drivers/software.
