went into regedit for all three machines, to the location
HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Browser\Paramet ers. On "powertool", I set
the value IsDomainMaster = "TRUE". On the
laptops, I set that value to "FALSE". For the value MaintainServerList, for
all three machines, the value data is "Yes".

PLEASE post the complete Browstat output from each computer. Don't
excerpt.

Is the Browser service, AND the TCP/IP Helper service, running on each
computer?
Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. Verify that the Computer
Browser, and the TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper, services both show with Status =
Started. Not just Startup Type = Automatic.

Yes, in Local Services on all three units, Computer Browser & TCP/IP NetBIOS
Helper services
are ON.

If you want powertool to be the master browser, you need to power down all
computers simultaneously. If you then start powertool first, and allow
enough
time, it should elect itself as the MB. IF the browser service is
running.

Not trying to be a wise guy, but how do I powerdown all three machines
'simultaneously' when I've only got so many
fingers to work with? BTW, I tried going to the link you provided, and my
browser told me it's no longer active.

Please restore the registry values [...\Browser\Parameters] on all computers to
their previous values.

Next, power down each computer, one at a time.

Then, power up Powertool.

After Powertools is up, run browstat on it.

Finally, power up Multitool and Veridisk. Then run browstat on them.

Once you have browsing working, then try manually tweaking the registry values.
But please don't make registry changes while asking for help, as sometimes the
changes you make can conflict with the help.

this hangup. But the Law of Diminishing Returns tells me that the
