I have a Dell Dimension 3000, Legacy sound card, Audio Codescs, Media Control
Devices, Legacy Video Capture Device (this is working), tried all the trouble
shoot, reinstalled xp, switch bios, computer crash, reinstalled all drivers.
nothing.
can't find the drive from dell, going in circles. and yes, it's in the
correct plug in the computer, and speakers work on another system.
Device manager has a !Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver
the rest said device is working but the location is not there.
tryed restalling and unstalling, nothing is working.
Please help.
Thanks

According to the Dell web site:
http://support.dell.com/support/down...&catid=&impid=

your PC came with integrated audio and you can download the driver there.
If, in fact, you have a sound card, you might want to pull the card out and
see if you can determine the brand and/or model. Write down any markings
you find and try Goggling them.
