Solely using winexit.scr on Windows XP SP3
Hi,
I've been able to set the default user (template user that is used to create new users) and new users to be able to use winexit.scr after making the necessary changes in the registry. However, I'd like to remove all the other default screen savers. Basically I would like to have winexit.scr to be the sole screensaver available to use and users are unable to change it. This is for a community use corporate computer. Everyone will log in using their AD account, however I do not want to make changes to the AD as this setting is only for this computer (placed in a general area for everyone to use, so it must log out automatically after 10 min of inactivity as opposed to their own work stations may be logged in for as long as they wish). Also, a side problem is that I am unable to get the desktop image to set properly. It shows that it wants to use the corporate wallpaper that I've put in a c:\temp directory. However, you need to go into the desktop properties and click OK before it recognizes you want to use the wallpaper. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance! |

Solely using winexit.scr on Windows XP SP3
Stan,
Everything can be done through Group Policy 1) Delete all the scr files out of the Windows directory 2) (START | RUN | GPEDIT.MSC) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc938799.aspx 3) USER CONFIGURATION | ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES | CONTROL PANEL | DESKTOP | DESKTOP) - Desktop Wallpaper in the right pane (copy the file into C:\Windows\Web\Walpaper folder) -- SPAMCOP User "Stan" wrote in message ... If they are using WinXP Pro that's fine, but WinXP Home won't have the group policy editor. -- Roy Smith Windows XP Pro SP3 |
